Friends, I don't know ANYONE who doesn't know who J Dilla is. He's had numerous monikers, but NO equal. His legacy is unrivaled. His impact on and in Hip Hop music is undeniable. His passion has left an imprint on the music for as long as it will be with us. His ingenuity is inescapable. I cannot say enough about this artist. No one can.

Stussy and Stones Throw have done a good job of providing a look into the world that he has, and will continue to influence, in music. I implore you to spend however long it takes you to watch this three-part documentary and get behind the man that made an immeasurable impact on our beloved Hip Hop, those who live it and all who have been touched by it since his day of birth (and somewhat empty in some ways since the day he left us for another world).

Martin Linsdtrom, a practitioner of neuromarketing research, states that "83% of all forms of advertising principally engage only one of our senses: sight. Hearing, however, can be just as powerful, though advertisers have taken only limited advantage of it."

"And if Lindstrom — author of the best seller Buyology and a marketing consultant for Fortune 500 companies, including PepsiCo and Disney — is correct, trying to tune this stuff out is about to get a whole lot harder."

The piece confirms one of my strongest beliefs and reinforces my core business philosophy - SOUND MATTERS. The article goes on to illustrate that not only does sound matter, it's critical in effectively communicating a brand's message, specifically in advertising, and brands are really beginning to take notice.

I've long been a fan of Daedelus and, more recently, Nosaj Thing. Here we get a glimpse at them throwing down during an intimate 10-minute set. Nosaj highlights the beauty of cuts found on his latest album, "Drift" while Daedelus throws down a set of "crack a glow stick" bangers. Not much more to say... Please enjoy.

Awesome InstructionalsMartin Sitter, Publisher at one of my favorite resources for learning leading software like Adobe's Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Illustrator, etc.), macPro Video presents his POV on the advent of technology and its effect on music production in the current day.

He coins it "RISC processing for music (RISC stands for Reduced Instruction Set Computing)". I call it spot on... Ahhh, the good `ol days. Read on here friends.
