Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Multi-Player In-Game Play

I Love shooters (games, that is)!  Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was a (short, but) sweet experience that offered an innovative and exciting storyline along with some pretty groundbreaking approaches to tactical warfare, IMO.

World, Meet the Brooklyn Smasher and Crusher

My new best friend.

My friends often poke fun at me for sleeping with a 4-cell Mag Lite by the bed. (Can you find the bathroom in the dark?) All jokes aside, no reason to be surprised by an intruder - surprise them instead! So, to stop the teasing, I'm replacing the Mag Lite with with one of these bad boys, by Cold Steel. How in the world do you hear about this stuff, you ask? My Dad. He got me my first Cold Steel and brand loyal I am.

Now, yes, they're actually made for the sport but as Cold Steel says on their site, they're there if you need them off duty too: "Because they’re precision injection molded out of heavy-grade polypropylene, these bats just can’t be broken. There’s no need to worry about shards of wood flying in your face. No matter what you hit or how hard you swing them, they just won’t break. And they’re durable too, they won’t rot, crack, or splinter, or even fade. You can treat them as roughly as you choose. You needn’t worry about dirt or the weather affecting them either since they’re impervious to the elements and clean up with soap and water. Try that with a wood bat and you might damage it.

Strong-ass bat

They’re versatile too. Like any other baseball bat, croquet mallet, golf club or hockey stick, they can be used in an emergency, as an extremely effective self-defense tool. You can keep one behind the front door, under the bed, or in a car trunk and forget about it until you need it. They can be used as game bats, practice bats, warm-up bats, loaner bats, inclement weather bats, school or league bats or kid’s bats. They can also serve as a cross over trainers to develop strength, agility and eye hand coordination for those studying Western Saber Fencing, Kendo, Kenjitsu, Filipino Stick and Sword Fighting and Chinese martial arts.

Best of all, they make good economic sense. With a suggested retail price of $45 and $40 they’re comparable in price to good wooden bats, and since they’re unbreakable they will last far longer than any wooden bat on the market."

Run over to Cold Steel and finish up your Father's day shopping!

Reasonably priced for what you get

DJ Shadow (A DJ Hero) Is In The Game

OK, so up to this point, I hadn't been too excited about the upcoming DJ Hero title from our friends at Activision. Then I read the press release and saw the screen grabs, featuring DJ Shadow! Yes, he'll be a character in the game - that's rad. Looks pretty fierce, if you ask me.

DJ Shadow goes digital.I also took note of the set up they put him on, authentic Turntablist arrangement - nicely done.

Turntablist set-up looks good. And the controller doesn't look too bad either.

DJ Hero ControllerBy the way, Shadow's not alone, as the press release indicates.  "Joining the internationally acclaimed DJ, producer and recording artist DJ Shadow, who has been consulting and contributed several mixes for DJ Hero, and making their video game debuts, DJ Z-Trip, a founder of the mashup movement who’s known worldwide for his sold out shows and eclectic style, and DJ AM, one of the world’s premier and most in-demand DJs today, appear as in-game characters and have each created multiple exclusive mixes for DJ Hero. Additionally, founding member of both the rap group Jurassic Five and the Grammy award winning Latin funk outfit, Ozomatli, Cut Chemist will debut an exclusive mix in the game."

OK, now I'm excited.  Check out more at the game's website.
