J Dilla (What More Can I Say?)
J Dilla (Courtesy of the Dilla Estate)
Friends, I don't know ANYONE who doesn't know who J Dilla is. He's had numerous monikers, but NO equal. His legacy is unrivaled. His impact on and in Hip Hop music is undeniable. His passion has left an imprint on the music for as long as it will be with us. His ingenuity is inescapable. I cannot say enough about this artist. No one can.
Stussy and Stones Throw have done a good job of providing a look into the world that he has, and will continue to influence, in music. I implore you to spend however long it takes you to watch this three-part documentary and get behind the man that made an immeasurable impact on our beloved Hip Hop, those who live it and all who have been touched by it since his day of birth (and somewhat empty in some ways since the day he left us for another world).

And now, the news of the loss of one of the most humble, beloved and underappreciated DJs/Turntablists of our time - of ANY time, our friend Grandmaster DJ Roc Raida.
